Physicians of Ontario Collaborating for Knowledge Exchange and Transfer (POCKET) is a network of “Educationally Influential” family physicians from across Ontario.
POCKET was established in 2005 as part of GAC's project on Back Pain. These physicians were identified by a survey asking Ontario physicians to identify peers they considered Opinion Leaders or Educationally Influential. Nearly 1,500 physicians returned the survey, a remarkable response rate. Physicians who were nominated five to six times by their peers were identified as POCKET members, representing 196 family physicians from across the province.
CEP is working to make POCKET a sustainable network of change agents to enable an ongoing exchange of information, ideas and experience between family physicians and the four partners who form the Steering Committee (CEP/GAC, OCFP, CPSO, IWH). Jess Rogers is currently the Chair of the POCKET Steering Committee.
