Improving resident outcomes through academic detailing

From her very first site visit to our home the academic detailer was able to engage us in this project with her enthusiasm and commitment for improving resident outcomes.

Our family council and family members felt valued when they were included in the detailing service. They found the visit very informative and they really appreciated being involved in conversations about their experiences. They also found the information was easy to understand. Having the detailer attend our professional advisory committee to discuss the project, and the best practice evidence, really engaged our physicians and pharmacist in this process.

Overall, we found the visits very informative and relevant, the educational benefits of this service will lead to better quality outcomes for our residents. We were also very satisfied with the high level of engagement and participation from our clinical team and family members in this process.
