The Canadian Action Network for the Advancement, Dissemination and Adoption of Practice-informed Tobacco Treatment (CAN-ADAPTT)
Description
CAN-ADAPTT (the Canadian Action Network for the Advancement, Dissemination and Adoption of Practice-informed Tobacco Treatment), connects health service providers and tobacco control researchers using a unique approach to facilitate a “bottom-up” process whereby research questions and practice gaps arise from front-line practice and are directly integrated into the clinical practice guideline.
In addition, CEP provided project management support to the CAN-ADAPTT team for the 2010/2011 project year.

Methods/Processes
CEP utilized the Guideline Advisory Committee (GAC) review process to identify, review and appraise clinical practice guidelines in smoking cessation to inform the development of a Canadian smoking cessation clinical practice guideline. High-scoring guidelines, based on the AGREE appraisal instrument, were used by CAN-ADAPTT to develop tools and educational material delivered through its Practice-Based Research. Network.
